The grievance of the petitioner is directed against inaction on the part of the respondent in providing a separate electricity connection to the petitioner by installing a new meter.

On behalf of the respondent-CESC Ltd., it is submitted that this is a case of splitting of load and the concerned Grievance Redressal Officer (GRO) is the appropriate authority to hear the dispute.

In view of the above, WPA 634 of 2021 stands disposed of by directing the petitioner to approach the concerned GRO within a week from date. If any such application is filed, the concerned GRO is directed to dispose of the same within eight weeks from the date of filing of such application.

It is made clear that there has been no expression on the merits of the case and all

issues are left open to be decided by the concerned GRO strictly in accordance with law. (Ravi Krishan Kapur, J.)
