Imam Mr. Sagnik Mukherjee ... for the Petitioner(s) Mr. Sandip Chakraborty Mr. Ratul Ghosh ... for the State-respondent(s) Learned advocate for the petitioner submits that the petitioner was arrested on 17th September, 2022 and is in custody for three years four months. Learned advocate further submits that the prosecution has relied upon eight witnesses out of the 68 witnesses they have cited in the charge-sheet.

Learned advocate for the State submits that he has instruction that the prosecution would examine eight more witnesses.

Having heard the submissions of the parties, eight months' more time is granted to the prosecution to conclude

the prosecution witnesses and the learned trial court for examining the accused under section 313 of the Cr.P.C. The learned trial court would also put in efforts so that the verdict is pronounced by 9th October, 2026.

Having considered the totality of the circumstances, I am not inclined to enlarge the petitioner on bail at this stage.

Hence, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is Rejected.

Accordingly, CRM(M) 120 of 2026 is dismissed. Pending application(s), if any, is also disposed of. Parties are directed to communicate this order on the next date fixed before the learned trial court and the learned trial court would adhere to the directions passed above. No unnecessary adjournment be granted to any of the parties and the trial of the case would continue inspite of any resolution of the local Bar.
