1. By this writ petition, filed as a public interest litigation by a practicing advocate, seeks for issuance of a writ of mandamus to direct the National Investigating Agency or the Central Bureau of Investigation to cause an investigation into a complaint of incident at Sandeshkhali, as mentioned in the writ petition.

2. The annexures in the writ petition are nothing but newspaper reports. The petitioner, who is a practicing advocate appears to have not done any research in the matter.

3. The petitioner's allegation is that the officials of the Enforcement Directorate were attacked in the State of West Bengal.

4. In our considered view, based upon newspaper reports, without conducting any research by the petitioner, this writ petition cannot be entertained by this Court at this juncture. That apart, the matter concerns an attack upon the officials of the Enforcement Directorate and the petitioner is not here to advise as to what the said Central Agency has to do as they have got all the expertise and wherewithal to handle the situation.

5. Therefore, we are not inclined to entertain the writ petition for the present based on the materials placed here as a public interest litigation.

6. Hence the writ petition is dismissed.

7. No costs.

8. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be furnished to the parties expeditiously upon compliance of all legal formalities.
