The petitioner complains that the private respondents are disturbing the cultivation of his land. Counsel for the private respondents has filed an affidavit-in-opposition stating that the land has been purchased by a Registered Deed from the father of the petitioner.

This Court is of the view that the police cannot enter into any civil disputes or decide the right, title and interest of the petitioner or the private respondents in respect of the land in question. The petitioner may approach a Civil Court in this regard. The Inspector-in-charge, Gosaba Police Station shall, however, ensure that there is absolutely no

breach of peace in the area and comply with any order that may be passed by a Civil Court.

With the aforesaid directions, the instant writ petition shall stand disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.
