Mr. Dhiraj Trivedi, learned Dy. Solicitor General of India, who usually appears on behalf of Union of India, is directed to appear in this matter on behalf of Union of India along with Ms. Amrita Pandey, learned advocate. Let their appointment be regularised. In the present writ petition the petitioners who are local inhabitant of Sundarban Coastal area, being indigent individuals unable to construct dwelling houses, have preferred this writ petition seeking financial assistance for construction of their dwelling unit under the 'Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna'.

It is the case of the petitioners wherein they state that in order to avail financial help under the 'Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna' they need to obtain poor income certificate and local inhabitant certificate in

their favour from the concerned local Pradhan as well as B.D.O. Office. But the concerned Pradhan as well as B.D.O. Officer did not pay any heed to them and failed to issue those certificates without providing any cogent ground.

The petitioners in limine stated that they had made a written representation dated 16th October, 2023 before the District Magistrate, South 24 Parganas for financial help from the Government of West Bengal for construction of dwelling houses under the 'Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna'.

The present writ petition is disposed of by directing the concerned District Magistrate to consider and dispose of the representation dated 16th October, 2023 of the petitioner by passing reasoned and speaking order within a period of eight weeks from the date of communication of this order. The petitioners state that they shall be satisfied if their representation is decided by the concerned District Magistrate.

With the above direction, the present writ petition is disposed of.

Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
