Advocate for the petitioner submits that C. Case No. 2429 of 2021 was filed before the ld. Jurisdictional Court at Barasat in the year 2021 and the examination of the accused person under section 251 of the cr.p.c. has been conducted in the month of January, 2024.

According to the ld. advocate almost three years have passed in the meantime but there has been no progress in the case. The proceeding being under section 138 of the N.I. Act.

Accordingly, I direct the ld. Magistrate to fix at lest one date in every 60 days so that the trial of the case can be taken to its logical conclusion within a reasonable period of time. No unnecessary adjournment be granted to either of the parties. In case, any application under section 143A of the N.I. Act is filed, in that case, the same should be disposed of within a period of 30 days from the date of filing of the said application. All efforts be taken to conclude the

trial within a period of 18 months from the date of communication of this order.

With the aforesaid observations, CRR 95 of 2024 is disposed of.

Pending application, if any, is also disposed of. Parties to act on a server copy of this order duly collected from the official website of the Hon'ble High Court, Calcutta.
