Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner is aggrieved by the inaction of the police authorities and, as such, approached this Court. According to the petitioner, the bank officials were involved in the commission of the alleged offence. However, no steps were being taken by the police authorities.

Records reflect that the police authorities initiated investigation being Sagardighi P.S. Case No.48 of 2025 dated 19.01.2025 and on conclusion of investigation submitted charge-sheet against one Ashok Kumar Mukul @ Ashok Kumar Sukul who was former Manager of Allahabad Bank under Sections 406/409/420 of the Indian Penal Code.

Having considered that the police authorities have taken steps against the erring bank official, I am

of the view that materials have been collected by the police authorities in course of investigation. Learned advocate for the petitioner submits that the said accused are yet to be arrested. However, it has been submitted on behalf of the State that the accused surrendered/appeared before the learned jurisdictional court.

Be that as it may, petitioner would approach the jurisdictional court in case he is dissatisfied with the investigation of the case. If an appropriate application is filed under the statutory provisions, learned jurisdictional court would dispose of the same within a period of 60 days from the date of filing of such application.

With the aforesaid observations, WPA 698 of 2025 is disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.

A copy of the final report/charge-sheet under Section 193 of the BNSS has been submitted before this Court. Let the same be kept with the record. All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.

Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
