The petitioner is a successful candidate of the NEET-PG-2022 Examination. Her rank in the merit list is 1,17,557 under the General Category.

It has been submitted on behalf of the petitioner that though she registered herself for the counselling, the same was subsequently cancelled by a direction from the Director General of Health Service, Government of India. She, however, could not register herself subsequently. It has also been submitted that Stray Round Counselling is still going on and the list of eligible candidates will be published after 6 p.m. on January 11, 2023. Since the petitioner could not register herself, she has not been allowed to participate in the fourth round conselling.

In view of the aforesaid submissions, I dispose of the writ petition directing the Director of Medical Education, Government of West Bengal to register the

name of the petitioner for the purpose of Stray Round Counselling in course of this day provided the petitioner pays the requisite fees physically by 6.30 p.m. today and she is found otherwise eligible for the same.

The Director of Medical Education, Government of West Bengal as a consequence of her registration will allow the petitioner to participate in the Stray Round Counselling subject to her eligibility.

Needless to mention, the counselling will be done in accordance with merit of the petitioner, no view with respect to the admission of the petitioner has been expressed by this Court.

Accordingly, WPA 610 of 2023 is disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.
