Sarkar ..for the petitioner Mr. Somnath Ganguly Mr. Priyamvada Singh ..for the State The petitioner is presently working as an Accountant at Women's Christian College, Kolkata. It is the grievance of the petitioner that his pay has not been properly fixed by the authority and resultantly, he has been receiving a salary lower than that of employees junior to him in college service. The college forwarded a proposal of the petitioner to fix his pay by a letter dated January 20, 2017 to the Director of Public Instructions, West Bengal.

Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that his prayer has not yet been considered by the Director of Public Instructions, West Bengal. In that view of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction upon the Director of Public

Instructions, West Bengal to consider the pay fixation proposal of the petitioner as appearing at page 30 of the writ petition within two months from the date of communication of this order.

The reasoned order should be communicated to the petitioner within seven days thereafter.

The Director of Public Instructions, West Bengal shall hear the college and the petitioner.

With the aforesaid directions, WPA 603 of 2024 is disposed of.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the learned advocates for the parties on usual undertakings.
