1. Petitioner is in custody for 665 days. He prays for bail.

2. Learned lawyer for the State opposes the bail prayer.

3. We have considered the materials on record. Statement of the victim implicates the petitioner in the offence of gang rape. He had absconded for a protracted period of time. In view of the gravity of offence and incriminating materials on record we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner at this stage.

4. Accordingly, prayer for bail is rejected.
