Mr. Abhinaba Mukherjee ...for the State Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners submits as follows. By an order dated 04.02.2026 passed in CRM (A) 166 of 2026, the petitioners were granted anticipatory bail, inter alia, on the condition to furnish a bond of Rs. 10,000/- each, with two sureties of like amount each, one of whom must be local. However, the petitioners have not been able to arrange for local sureties. Heard the learned counsel for the State.

It appears that the petitioners have not been able to arrange for local sureties and consequently could not avail of the benefit of the order granting anticipatory bail.

In view of the above and in the interest of justice, the condition to furnish local sureties is waived. Instead the petitioners shall be permitted to furnish registered sureties. The other conditions for granting anticipatory bail shall remain the same. With these observations and directions, the application being CRAN 1 of 2026 is disposed of.
