Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that though various representations were made before Howrah Municipal Corporation seeking clarifications regarding mutation of the records in favour of respondent nos.7 to 13, no response has been received from Howrah Municipal Corporation. A perusal of the representations submitted by the petitioner do not, however, indicate that the petitioner has asked for mutation of the assessment record in its name, rather it questioned the mutation of the assessment records in favour of respondent nos.7 to 13.

Learned advocate appearing for the Corporation also submits that till date the Corporation has not received any formal application for mutation of the assessment record in favour of the petitioner. Respondent nos.7 to 13 submit that they are the lawful owners of the land in question and as such their names have been recorded in the record. This court is not inclined to delve into the title of the parties in respect of the premises in question at this juncture.

This writ petition is disposed of with a direction upon the Howrah Municipal Corporation to consider the representation dated August 23, 2022 (appearing at page 142 of the writ petition) within a period of two months from the date of communication of this order. With this direction, WPA 666 of 2023 is disposed of.
