Ms. Somoshree Saha ..for the petitioner Mr. Ansar Mandal Mr. Tanweer J. Mondal ..for the State The petitioner has a two-fold grievance.

Firstly, it is submitted by the learned advocate appearing for the petitioner that on November 16, 2013, the petitioner had submitted an application before the Haturia-II Gram Panchayat, Harap, Bagnan, Howrah, seeking sanction of a building plan. However, the said building plan has not yet been considered. It is further alleged that on May 13, 2024, the petitioner submitted another application before the Pradhan of the said Panchayat, seeking a water connection for his premises.

These representations are stated to be still pending and have not yet been considered by the concerned authorities.

The learned advocate appearing for the State submits that the petitioner's representations ought to be considered in accordance with law.

In view of the above, I find no justification for keeping this writ petition pending.

Accordingly, the Panchayat is directed to consider both the above-mentioned representations in accordance with law, within a period of one month from the date of communication of this order. It is clarified that, if the petitioner's proposed building plan is found to be in order, the Panchayat shall sanction the same. The water connection shall also be granted, subject to the petitioner complying with all necessary formalities.

Accordingly, WPA 826 of 2025 is disposed of.
