For the Respondent During the pendency of the appeal good sense prevailed between the parties and they have entered into an amicable settlement by filing a joint application for compromise being CAN 5 of 2022.

Clause 2(d) of the said application has been corrected in our presence by the joint applicants. In terms of settlement of the compromise application, the appellant/wife would be entitled a sum of Rs.8,00,000/- (Eight Lakhs) as permanent alimony.

The said sum of Rs.8,00,000/- by way of a demand draft being no. 641376, dated 8th March 2022 of State Bank of India, High Court Branch, is handed over to the wife/applicant no. 1 in court today.

On the basis of the said application for compromise, we dispose of the appeal being FA 228 of 2019.

The application for compromise being CAN 5 of 2022 is thus allowed.
