The petitioner was an Assistant Teacher at Shingherdhari Free Primary School, a school under Joynagar North Circle of the District Primary School Council, 24-Parganas (South) ("Council" in short). The petitioner, while serving as the Teacher-inCharge of the said school, had participated in the selection process initiated by the Council for recruitment of Head Teachers in the schools under its jurisdiction.

A panel was prepared according to the seniority of the participant teachers; in pursuance thereof, the petitioner has been recommended for appointment as the Head Teacher at Gobindapur Nur Jahan Samrity Free Primary School under the same circle of the Council.

The petitioner is praying that instead of the said school, he may be recommended for appointment as the Head Teacher at the school where he is presently working.

The prayer of the petitioner, if allowed, would vitiate the panel prepared by the Council in terms of the Rules 17 and 18 of the West Bengal Primary School Teachers Recruitment Rules, 2001.

WPA 820 of 2025 is thus dismissed without any order as to costs.
