Petitioner is in custody for more than two years. He contends victim lady has been examined. Accordingly, he prays for bail.

Learned Advocate for the State opposes the bail prayer. He submits report with regard to status of the proceeding.

We have considered the materials on record including the evidence of the victim. Victim alleged that she had been forcibly abducted and raped. There are serious allegations against the petitioner.

In view of the aforesaid incriminating materials on record and the nature of crime, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner at this stage.

Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected.

We request the trial court to expedite the trial and conclude the same at an early date preferably within one year from the next date fixed for recording prosecution witnesses without granting unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties.

Parties shall co-operate and communicate this order to the trial court for due compliance.
