The petitioner is presently working as an Assistant Professor at Nagar College, Murshidabad.

The petitioner alleges that an order of transfer was issued in his favour by a notification dated January 27, 2021 by the Higher Education Department of the State transferring him to Kalyani Mahavidyalaya, Nadia. Despite such order being issued, the petitioner, till date, has not yet been transferred.

It has been further alleged by the petitioner that Kalyani Mahavidyalaya has not issued any appointment letter in his favour of the petitioner rendering the order of transfer ineffective.

In view of the above facts, I direct the Director of Public Instruction, West Bengal to conduct the hearing after giving an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, to end the representation of Kalyani Mahavidyalaya within a period of one month from the date of communication of this order, so that the issues relating to transfer of the

petitioner at Kalyani Mahavidyalaya is resolved. Accordingly, WPA 725 of 2024 is disposed of.
