Mr. Falguni Bandyopadhyay Ms. Riya Ballav ... For the Respondent. No.6 Mr. Arefin, learned counsel for the petitioner does not wish to press the first prayer for habeas corpus. The writ petition is thereafter taken up.

The petitioner is aggrieved by alleged inaction of the Lake Town Police Station in respect of a complaint that his son was missing.

Inspector-in-Charge, Lake Town Police Station has filed a report before this Court and the same is taken on record.

It appears from the report that the petitioner's son Bikram Das was having relations with a girl called Sangita Jana. Both the son and the girl were recovered. There was an amicable settlement between the families of the petitioner and that of said Sangita Jana that upon reaching the age of consent they would be given in marriage. The son of the petitioner (Bikram Das) is stated to have gone into depression thereafter and admitted in Freedom Rehabilitation Centre at Habra. The boy is stated

to have gone missing once again thereafter on 11th January, 2023.

Lake Town Police has registered a case being Lake Town P.S. Case No.08/2023 dated 11th January, 2023 under Section 363 of the IPC and the investigation is underway.

It is, therefore, ordered that the investigation to recover the missing son of the petitioner may continue in accordance with law and steps shall be taken in this regard. With the aforesaid directions, the writ petition is disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.
