Ms. Samapti Roy ... For the respondent nos. 1 to 4 The petitioner claims to be the wife of respondent no.5, an employee of the Indian Bank, the respondent no.1. The petitioner says that the marriage between petitioner and the respondent no.5 was solemnized on 24th November, 1990 and two male children were born out of such wedlock respectively on 25th December, 1993 and 18th May, 1999. The two children are admittedly major as on date but they are not parties to this writ petition. The petitioner, inter alia, is seeking for a direction to include the petitioner as a nominee in the service records of respondent no.5, so that she can receive some money for her maintenance.

On behalf of the respondent nos. 1 to 4, it is submitted that the respondent no.5 has already retired from service on 31st January, 2022 and has been paid all the retiral benefits.

After hearing the submissions made on behalf of the respondent nos. 1 to 4, the petitioner expresses her desire not to proceed further with the writ petition. The writ petition is dismissed as withdrawn. The dismissal of the writ petition will not stand in the way of the petitioner approaching any forum asserting her claim as wife of the respondent no.5, if permitted under law. (Arindam Mukherjee, J.)
