Learned counsel appearing for the petitioners and University submit that the orders passed by this court on 17th and 21st January, 2022 may be given effective compliance if the petitioners are allowed to sit for the 7th Semester Practical Examinations before 31st January, 2022 and sit for the theoretical paper at the time of the 8th Semester Examinations in June, 2022 or whenever the said Examination is held by the University. Learned counsel for the College submits that the verification process shall be completed by the College by 29th January, 2022.
Learned counsel appearing for the University has taken a very fair stand by indicating that the petitioners will be accepted as Regular candidates so that the petitioners do not miss out any academic year or counselling or any other opportunities which are given to the students.
Upon hearing learned counsel, the University is directed to permit the petitioner to sit for the 7th Semester theory papers along with 8th Semester Examinations when the latter examination is held. The petitioners shall also be treated as Regular candidates as an exceptional measure of consideration shown by the University to the petitioners. On the request made by learned counsel appearing for the University, this shall not be treated as a precedent.
W.P.A.701 of 2022 is disposed of in terms of the above.
The State is represented.
