Heard learned counsels for the parties.

The petitioner was granted stage carriage permit for plying his vehicle from Hasnabad to Sealdah on 8th March, 2019.

The petitioner intended to surrender the said permit and made an application before the concerned authority to that effect on 22nd June, 2022. The said application was placed at the board meeting on 2nd September, 2022 but no decision was communicated to the petitioner thereof.

It is submitted on behalf of the respondents that in a board meeting held on 16th January, 2023, the application of the petitioner has been approved. In view of the above, this Court is inclined to hold that the said approval/decision taken by the authority be

communicated to the petitioner by the authority within a fortnight from date.

With the above observations and directions the writ petition being WPA 785 of 2023 is disposed of. However, there shall be no order as to costs. Since no affidavit is invited, the allegations contained in the petition are deemed not to be admitted. Urgent certified website copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
