The petitioner complains that he is being harassed, humiliated and abused by the private respondent nos. 8 and 9 who happen to be the son and the daughter-in-law. In view of the immense torture being inflicted, the life of the petitioner who is an aged senior citizen has become miserable. Mr. Yusuf, learned AGP appears for the State. I have considered the plight expressed by the petitioner. Accordingly, I direct that the Officer-inCharge, Baguiati Police Station will depute a lady police personnel who on every alternate day for a period of four weeks would visit and assess regarding the harassment and humiliation inflicted upon the present petitioner and if required submit a report before the Officer-in-Charge, Baguiati Police Station. The arrangement would continue for a period of four weeks. In the meantime, the petitioner will approach the appropriate authority under the provisions of Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007 who would

pass necessary orders in respect of the torture being inflicted upon the present petitioner. In case any order is passed by the concerned Tribunal, the police authorities would respect and obey such order.

With the aforesaid observations, the writ petition being WPA 768 of 2024 is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.

All concerned parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
