Heard the parties.

The grievance of the petitioner is directed against the failure of the respondent CESC Ltd. to provide an electricity connection to the petitioner.

Pursuant to an earlier order of this Court CESC Ltd. has caused an inspection at the subject premises and submitted a report in Court, which is kept with the records. It transpires from such report that they are ready and willing to provide a fresh electricity connection to the premises upon compliance of statutory formalities and payment of necessary fees.

It is specifically submitted on behalf of the CESC Ltd. that they would take two week's time to cause necessary connection at the subject premises.

The private respondents are represented and submit that there are civil disputes between the private respondents and the petitioner. In view of the fact that the petitioner seeks an essential service, the respondent CESC is directed to provide a fresh electricity connection to the petitioner within a period of two weeks from date upon compliance with statutory formalities.

The Officer-in-Charge of the concerned police station is directed to provide all necessary assistance to the representatives of the CESC Ltd. in providing electricity connection to the subject premises.

With the aforesaid directions, WPA 1049 of 2021 stands disposed of.

However, there will be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
