The learned advocate appearing for the petitioner/applicant submits that in terms of the order dated 21st January, 2020 passed in CRM 220 of 2020 the petitioner could not appear before the learned court below and pray for regular bail within the time specified, since the application file was not traceable in the department and the petitioner/applicant could not obtain the certified copy of the order in time. In view thereof, time to surrender before the learned trial court was extended for a further period of four weeks from 16th March, 2020, by an order dated 16th March, 2020. However, immediately thereafter, in view of the pandemic situation, a lock down was declared and the petitioner/applicant could not surrender before the learned court below within the time specified.

Mr. Mitra, learned advocate appearing for the WBSEDCL does not dispute the fact that the petitioner had deposited the 50% of the bill amount.

Having heard the learned advocates and considering the materials on record, the time to appear before the learned court

below and pray for regular bail is extended for a period of four weeks from date.

The application, being CRAN 1 of 2021, is, accordingly disposed of.
