Mr. Arindam Paul Ms. Debarati Das .....for the petitioner Mr. Somnath Bose .......for the CESE Limited Mr. Arindam Chattopadhyay Ms. Lipika Chatterjee ....for the State It is the case of the petitioner that there an electricity connection in the name of his deceased father in premises in question, however, the same got disconnected in the month of September, 2023. Thereafter, the petitioner applied for a fresh electricity connection on 2.11.2023 with the requisite fees. However till date no action has been taken on his application. Being aggrieved by the said inaction of the respondent the petitioner has been preferred the present writ petition.

Learned counsel for the respondent appears and states that they have tried to install the electricity connection on 6.12.2023 but the same was met with resistance from the brother of the petitioner. Learned counsel for the respondent prays for adequate police protection.

The present writ petition is disposed of by directing the respondent No. 3 to provide adequate

police assistance to the respondent No. 1 and his agents to install the electricity connection on the premises of the petitioner at the cost of the petitioner and that the Officer-in-Charge shall be at liberty to break open the padlock if necessary to effect the electricity connection.

With the above direction the present writ petition is disposed of.
