Saha ... for the Petitioner(s) Mr. Suman De Ms. Pritha Paul ... for the State-respondent(s) Learned advocate for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for about eight months and has been implicated on the accusation of alleged recovery of 125 bottles of phensedyl.

Learned advocate for the State, on the other hand, opposes the prayer for bail.

Having considered the period of detention of the present petitioner - who is a lady, I am of the opinion that further incarceration of the present petitioner is unwarranted as there is no possibility of the trial concluding very soon. Hence, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is Allowed.

Accordingly, the petitioner viz, Chitra Rani Halder @ Durga Halder shall be released on bail upon furnishing bond of Rs.20,000/-(Rupees Twenty Thousand only), with two

sureties of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand only) each, one of whom must be local, to the satisfaction of the learned Special Court under NDPS Act-cum-Additional District and Sessions Judge, 6th Court, Barasat, North 24 Parganas. If on bail, the petitioner shall by physically present on each and every date of the trial so fixed by the learned trial court and shall not leave the jurisdiction of the district of North 24 Parganas without prior permission of the learned Special Court.

Accordingly, CRM(NDPS) 115 of 2026 is allowed. Pending application(s), if any, is also disposed of. Report submitted be kept with the record.

The Investigating officer of the case is present in court today. His further appearance before this court, for the day, is dispensed with.
