The affidavit of service is taken on record.

The only relief prayed for by the petitioners is for a direction on the respondent no.2 being the Excise Commissioner, Government of West Bengal to dispose of the appeal pending before the said respondent as expeditiously as possible.

It appears from the submissions made on behalf of the parties that the petitioners filed the first appeal before the Excise Commissioner on 5th October, 2021 and no progress has been made in the said appeal. Learned counsel appearing for the Excise Commissioner submits that two weeks time may be given to the respondent no.2 to dispose of the appeal. W.P.A.844 of 2022 is accordingly disposed of with a direction on the learned Excise Commissioner, Government of West Bengal being the respondent no.2 to dispose of the appeal pending before him within two weeks from date. The Commissioner is further directed to inform the petitioner by 2 p.m. tomorrow i.e. 16th June, 2022 of the next date of hearing.
