In this matter that has been filed in the year 2019, it is to be noted that no affidavits have been filed by the respondent authorities.

This writ petition challenges the property tax bills issued by the respondent authorities (Annexure-P/2) and seeks a fresh valuation with regard to the property tax. I have perused the documents in the writ petition and heard counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners. In my view, the respondent authorities should once again carry out a fresh valuation after granting an opportunity of hearing to the petitioners and thereafter, pass a reasoned order within a period of eight weeks from date. The reasoned order should be communicated to the petitioners within a period of one week of passing the same. With these observations, WPA 42 of 2019 is disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.
