The petitioner, being an ex-serviceman, was appointed as an Assistant Teacher in a Primary School under Purulia District Primary School Council.

The appointment letter was issued on February 10, 2020 and the petitioner had joined in the said service on February 17, 2020.

The petitioner is alleging that though the selection process was over by June, 2010 but due to laches of the authorities, his appointment was delayed resulting shortfall in qualifying service to get the pensionary benefits.

The petitioner is praying condonation of the said shortfall.

A representation of the petitioner dated December 04, 2024 to the said effect is pending

consideration before the Commissioner of School Education, Government of West Bengal and the District Inspector of Schools(P.E.), DistrictPurulia, the respondent nos. 3 and 4 herein respectively. The said representation forms part of the writ petition being Annexure 'P-9'.

The respondent no. 4 is directed to consider and dispose of the said representation as expeditiously as possible in accordance with law, preferably within a period of four weeks from the date of communication of this order, after giving the petitioner an opportunity of hearing.

WPA 1077 of 2025 is disposed of with the above terms without any order as to costs.

No affidavit-in-opposition since has been invited, the allegations made in the writ petition are deemed to have been denied by the respondents.
