1. Petitioner is aggrieved by the fact that inspite of New Town Police Station Case No. 324 of 2024 dated 11.12.2024 was registered for investigation and the petitioner's son having suffered immensely while discharging his duties in marriage ceremony but till date hardly any effective steps have been taken by the investigating authority.

2. Learned advocate appearing on behalf of the State has submitted that since the same was a marriage ceremony, from the CCTV footage persons were identified. One of the accused was arrested. Offending weapons were also seized by the police authorities from the place of occurrence. Notices have been issued under section 179 BNSS as also under Section 35(3) of the BNSS. In course of investigation Section 109 BNSS has also been added.

3. Since more than four months have passed and the process of investigation is on move at this stage, I do

not intend to comment on the materials collected by the investigating agency.

4. However, having regard to the nature of the incident, I am of the view that the Deputy Commissioner of Police-in-Charge of New Town Police Station will monitor the progress of the investigation. The investigating officer will once in a fortnight report the progress to the Deputy Commissioner of Police, so that the investigation of the case can be conducted effectively and taken to its logical conclusion within a reasonable time.

5. With the above observations, WPA 1326 of 2025 is disposed of.

6. Report so submitted by the State be kept with the record.

7. All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
