CESC Limited and another (Via Video Conference) Mr. Indranil Halder .... for the petitioner Mr. Debanjan Mukherjee .... for the CESC Limited In view of the CESC Limited having taken an objection to the petitioner's application for giving new electric connection on the ground of apprehended splitting of load, the appropriate remedy under the extant Regulations is before the concerned Grievance Redressal Officer (GRO).

Accordingly, WPA No.897 of 2022 is disposed of by granting liberty to the petitioner to approach the concerned GRO with the issue of giving new electric connection to the petitioner, subject to decision on the question of splitting of load by the GRO. The GRO shall, after receiving such complaint from the petitioner, decide the same and intimate his findings to the petitioner as expeditiously as possible,

preferably within four weeks from the date of reference to the GRO.

This court has not entered into the merits of the respective contentions of the parties in any manner and it will be open to the GRO to decide the same in accordance with law.

There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities.
