The petitioner participated in 2nd State Level Selection Test, 2025. She is two marks short of the cut off marks. She prays that as there was no delay on her part in joining service, the authority ought to grant marks on account of prior teaching experience taking into consideration the date on which recommendation for appointment was made in her favour.

It appears that the petitioner has already been provided six marks for prior teaching experience taking into account the period during which she was

actually in service. The petitioner prays for eight marks to be awarded to her.

Marks on account of prior teaching experience cannot be awarded till a candidate actually teaches the students. There is no scope of awarding marks on notional basis taking into consideration the date of recommendation of a candidate.

The aforesaid issue has been decided by the Court on 25th November, 2025 in WPA No. 25974 of 2025 (Saikat Bhattacharjee & Ors. vs. The State of West Bengal & Ors.).

In view of the above, the writ petition fails and is hereby dismissed.

All parties shall act on the basis of a server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties, upon compliance of necessary formalities.
