Mr. Srijan Nayak Ms. Rituparna Maitra ..for the State The petitioners seek the benefit of an order No. 1215 dated December 3, 2024, issued by the Assistant Registrar of Co-operative Societies, Purba Medinipur-II Range, Contai, whereby employees of certain societies were granted an ad hoc monthly allowance of Rs. 2,000/-. The petitioners claim that they are similarly circumstanced with the employees who have been provided with such a grant.

It appears that the petitioners made a representation before the Assistant Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Purba Medinipur-II Range, Contai.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that their prayer has not yet been considered.

In light of this, I find no reason to keep this writ petition pending.

Accordingly, I direct the Assistant Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Purba Medinipur-II Range, Contai, to consider the petitioners' representation in accordance with the law within two months from the date of this order, after providing an opportunity for a hearing to the petitioners. A reasoned order should be communicated to the petitioners within seven days thereafter. Accordingly, WPA 1231 of 2025 is disposed of. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the learned advocates for the parties on usual undertakings.
