Pursuant to a direction passed by this Court the respondent nos. 1 and 3 are represented and submit that since the society concerned has more than 1500 members there is a possibility of deterioration of law and order situation if the elections are to be conducted without the help of the police authority. He prays for police assistance in order for elections to be conducted.

The respondent no. 4 is represented and denies the allegations made by the petitioner.

The State is also represented.

In view of the submissions made by the parties, I direct the respondents no. 1 and 3 to conduct the elections of the respondent no. 4 within a period of three months from date. The respondent no. 6 being the Officer-in-Charge, Town Police Station, Kharagpur is directed to give all possible assistance to the respondents no. 1 and 3 in holding such elections.

In view of the above directions, nothing survives in the writ petition. Hence, WPA No. 1239 of 2021 is disposed of without any order as to costs.
