Plot No. 2337, situated in Mouza - Bhadrakali under the jurisdiction of the Uttarpara Kotrung Municipality, has been utilised for providing electricity supply to certain private individuals. They had submitted a representation before the District Magistrate, Hooghly, under Rule 3(b) of the Works of Licensees Rules, 2006; however, the said representation remains undecided.

It appears that the petitioners have appropriately addressed communications to the District Magistrate and other relevant authorities, seeking compensation for the use of the land owned by them.

Nevertheless, their representations have not yet been adjudicated. In view of the above, liberty is granted to the petitioners to submit a fresh representation before the District Magistrate, Hooghly, under Rule 3(b) of the Works of

Licensees Rules, 2006. If such a representation is filed within two weeks from the date of this order, the District Magistrate shall consider and dispose of the same in accordance with law, after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioners as well as to the officials of the Calcutta Electric Supply Corporation Limited, within a period of two months thereafter.

Accordingly, WPA 1185 of 2025 is disposed of. Since no affidavit has been called for, the allegations contained in the writ petition shall be deemed to have been denied by the respondents.
