22.01.2024 Item No.21 Ct. No. 29 CHC Rejected C.R.M.(A) 148 of 2024 In Re:- An application for anticipatory bail under Section 438 of the Code of Criminal Procedure in connection with Berhampore Police Station Case No. 61/2022 dated 10.01.2022 under Sections 419/420 of the Indian Penal Code.

And In the matter of : Rabiul Islam ...... petitioner Ms. Chandrima Debnath ....for the petitioner Mr. Jaydeep Biswas ....for the State Petitioner prays for anticipatory bail.

There are other police complaints which suggest that, petitioner impersonated the police personnel and extract money from unsuspecting member of the public.

Considering the gravity of the offence and involvement of the petitioner in the incident, we are unable to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

This application for anticipatory bail is, thus, rejected. CRM(A) 148 of 2024 is disposed of.
