The petitioner is a third year (5th semester) student of B.Com course at J. D. Birla Institute, Kolkata. The said college is affiliated to Jadavpur University. It has been submitted by the learned advocate appearing for the petitioner that on the eve of last Deepawali, petitioner suffered a burn injury in her right hand. She is not in a position to write the said 5th semester papers with her own hand.

The petitioner applied for a scribe before the college to write the answer scripts on behalf of the petitioner.

It appears that by a letter dated January 13, 2023, the college allowed the petitioner to appear in the examination with a scribe with certain terms and conditions stipulated therein.

Mr. Majumdar, learned advocate appearing for Jadavpur University submits that the University has no objection if the college allows the petitioner to appear in the examination with a scribe.

In that view of the matter, nothing remains to be decided in this writ petition since the college has accepted the prayer of the petitioner. The college will issue the admit card immediately and allow the petitioner to participate the examination.

Let the letter dated January 13, 2023 issued by the college be kept with the records.

This writ petition being WPA 1063 of 2023 is accordingly disposed of.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
