Apprehending arrest in connection with Bhagwangola P.S. Case No. 360 of 2020 dated 28.07.2020 under Sections 420/406/467/468/471 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860, the present application has been preferred.

The learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has been falsely implicated on the basis of a complaint lodged about four years after the alleged incident. No overt act has been attributed to the petitioner and as such, custodial detention of the petitioner is not necessary.

The learned advocate appearing for the State opposes the petitioner's prayer and draws our attention to several

documents in the case diary. He submits that the allegation is that an amount of Rs.22,50,000/- was paid by the de facto complainant to the petitioner and others and thereafter fake appointment letter was issued.

Having heard the learned advocates and considering the materials in the case diary, the nature of allegations and the extent of complicity of the petitioner in the alleged offence, we are not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

The application for anticipatory bail, being CRM 446 of 2021 is, thus, dismissed.
