Petitioner seeks bail.
Learned Advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for 299 days. The police filed charge-sheet and therefore further detention of the petitioner is not required. He submits that the petitioner married out of the caste and that such marriage was not accepted by the parents of the deceased. The deceased was staying with her parents where she was being tortured by the parents. It is out of the torture of her parents, the deceased committed suicide. Learned advocate appearing for the State draws the attention of the Court to the Post-mortem report. He submits that there are injury marks on the body of the deceased. He submits that the death is due to hanging ante-mortem in nature and that the death occurred at the matrimonial home. He draws the attention of the Court to the inquest report also.
Considering the gravity of the offence and the involvement of the petitioner therein, as prima facie appearing from the materials available in the case diary, we are unable to grant bail to the petitioner.
Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected.
C.R.M.(DB) 180 of 2022 is rejected.
