Mr. De, learned advocate for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for ten years and till date the trial is not over.

Mr. Banerjee, learned advocate appearing for the State submits that the examination of only one witness, i.e., the second Investigating Officer of the case, is left. The last date of the case was fixed on 6th February, 2021. The learned advocate also submits that the prosecution is ready to complete the trial within one month.

In view of the submissions advanced, we are of the opinion that the petitioner may not be released on bail at this stage. Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected.

However, the learned trial court is directed to pronounce the final verdict within sixty days from the date of communication of this order.

Department is directed to communicate this order immediately to the learned court below.
