Petitioner is in custody for 268 days. He submits he was on bail earlier. Due to misunderstanding, he failed to appear before the trial court in 2019. Accordingly, his bail was cancelled. He prays for bail.

Learned Advocate for the State opposes the prayer for bail. He submits trial is in progress.

We have considered the materials on record. Petitioner misused the liberty granted to him. His bail was cancelled in 2019. After two years he was arrested. Trial is in progress. In order to ensure quick conclusion of trial, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.

Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected.

Trial court is requested to conduct the trial as expeditiously as possible preferably within six months from the

next date fixed for recording evidence without granting unnecessary adjournments to either of the parties. (Ajay Kumar Gupta,J.) (Joymalya Bagchi, J.)
