To that effect, petitioner being aggrieved filed an information with the Superintendent of Police, Barasat Police District in respect of the sum of Rs.1,14,000/- being taken away by the accused persons by deceitful means.

Mr.

Yusuf, learned Additional Government Pleader, has submitted a report, which reflects that on conclusion of investigation in connection with Ashoknagar P.S. Case No. 886 of 2022, charge-sheet has been submitted before the learned jurisdictional court.

In view of the charge-sheet already been submitted, the petitioner would be at liberty to take appropriate steps before the learned jurisdictional court.

The petitioner next prays for recovery of the money which has not been done by the police authorities.

The very purpose of criminal law is to punish the offender. So far as the recovery of the money is concerned, the petitioner would approach the appropriate civil court.

As such, the subsequent prayer so advanced cannot be acceded to.

With the aforesaid observations, WPA 1066 of 2024 is disposed of.

Report submitted by the State be kept with the record. Let a copy of the report be handed over to the learned advocate for the petitioner.
