The petitioner's father was an employee of Boyermari-I Gram Panchayat. He died-in-harness on September 21, 1997. His wife/petitioner's mother was appointed on compassionate ground. The petitioner's mother passed away on March 17, 2004. The petitioner upon attaining majority made an application for appointment on compassionate ground on September 16, 2015.

A three-men committee enquired the petitioner's case and a report was filed on February 29, 2022. It was held by the said report that the petitioner's financial condition was extremely poor and she required financial assistance. The application on

compassionate ground was recommended. Based on such recommendation, the Additional District Magistrate forwarded the proposal for consideration of the prayer for compassionate appointment to the Additional Director, Directorate of Panchayats & Rural Development, Government of West Bengal, vide Memo No.367/DPRDD dated March 14, 2023.

In view of such recommendation, this Court directs the Additional Director to consider the proposal dated March 14, 2023 sent by the Additional District Magistrate, North 24-Parganas, Barasat within two months from date and if the petitioner is found otherwise eligible for compassionate appointment, the case of the petitioner may be considered for appointment.

The written instruction handed over by Mr. Ray Mukherjee, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the State respondents, in Court today is retained with the records.

With the directions aforesaid, WPA 1054 of 2022 is disposed of.

Since no affidavits have been called for in the writ petition, the allegations contained therein are deemed not to have been admitted by the respondents.
