This is an application for expeditious disposal of Matrimonial Suit No.159 of 2018, pending before the learned Additional District Judge at Baruipur, District 24 Parganas (South).

The petitioner prays for expeditious disposal of the said matrimonial suit and submits that the written statement has not yet been filed by the opposite party. It appears to this Court that the matter could not be taken up on various dates due to the resolution of the local bar and also due to the pandemic situation. On February 17, 2020 the court recorded that the opposite party has been served and a direction was issued for filing written statement. Without going into the merits of the case and correctness of the contention of the petitioner, this revisional application is disposed of with a direction upon the learned court below to dispose of the Matrimonial Suit No.159 of 2018 as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of one year from date of communication of this order.

The learned court below will proceed independently and in accordance with law without being influenced by any observations made hereinabove.

Petitioner is directed to serve a copy of this revisional application along with a server copy of this order upon the opposite party within a week from date.

The revisional applications are disposed of.

There will be, however, no order as to costs. Urgent Photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties on priority basis. (Shampa Sarkar, J.)
