The writ petitioner claims that she was receiving pension on account of her mother, who was a freedom fighter. Pension was paid up to the year 2015 but has been stopped thereafter. Hence the writ petition.

It is submitted that since after filing of the writ petition, the petitioner was intimated by the Central Government to submit certain documents to enable them to revive the pension. It is submitted that there has been miscommunication between the State and Central Government for which the pension had to be unfortunately stopped.

Ms. Aprana Banerjee, learned advocate appearing for the Union of India has provided Mr. Sarwar Jahan, learned counsel for the petitioner with the particulars of the documents required. Let the petitioner submit the documents within a period of ten days from date.

The United Bank of India now known as Punjab National Bank, Garkamalpore Branch, Mahisadal, District-Purba Midnapore shall furnish necessary information to the respondent

no. 3 as per the Union's letter dated 26.08.2021 and any further communication that may be issued on their behalf. Upon receipt of documents from the petitioner as well as the Punjab National Bank, the Union of India shall resume pension to the petitioner together with arrears preferably within a period of two months thereof.

The Punjab National Bank, Garkamalpore Branch, is added as party respondent to the instant proceeding. Counsel for the petitioner shall make necessary amendment to the cause title.

Let a copy of this order be communicated to the Punjab National Bank along with the writ petitioner for necessary compliance. A copy of the letter dated 26.08.2021 that is being handed over to the counsel for the petitioner shall also be sent to the aforesaid branch of the Punjab National Bank. With the aforesaid observations, the writ petition is disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.
