1. By this writ petition, the petitioner seeks for a direction upon the respondents viz. the South Eastern Railway for constructing a foot over bridge over the Mecheda Railway Station.

2. The copy of the petition has been served on the respondents.

3. Since, this Court exercising jurisdiction under Article 226 of the Constitution of India cannot decide as to in which place, the foot over bridge has to be constructed, the decision has to be left to be taken by the appropriate authorities.

4. Therefore, without going into the merits of the matter, there will be a direction to the respondent no.2 to consider the representation given by the petitioner dated 4th January, 2024, which appears to be a mass petition signed by several persons.

5. The General Manager, South Eastern Railway shall direct one of his officers to inspect the area and ascertain the feasibility and thereafter, dispose of the representation by passing a reasoned order and communicating the same to the writ petitioner.

6. This direction be complied with within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of server copy of this order.

7. With the above directions, the writ petition stands disposed of.

8. No costs.

9. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be furnished to the parties expeditiously upon compliance of all legal formalities.
