State has submitted a report pursuant to the earlier direction passed on 5th February, 2025. The report submitted by the Inspector-in-Charge, Kharagpur (L) P.S. reflects that charge-sheet has already been submitted in connection with Kharagpur Local P.S. Case No.929 of 2023 on or about 18th February, 2023 under the relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code.
Learned advocate for the petitioners has submitted a supplementary affidavit in order to canvass the other issues. However, if there are number of complaints which have been filed, petitioners would bring the same to the notice of the learned Magistrate in seisin of the case. If there is a threat of life of the petitioners, in that case, if an application is filed under the Witness Protection
Scheme, 2018 before the learned Magistrate in seisin of the Kharagpur Local P.S. Case No.929 of 2023, learned Magistrate in connection with the said case would call for a threat perception report and pass necessary directions upon the police authorities to take steps, if required for necessary protection being extended to the complainants/petitioners and its witnesses concerned.
With the aforesaid observations, WPA 1424 of 2025 is disposed of.
There will be no order as to costs.
Report so submitted be kept with the record.
A copy of the report be handed over to the learned advocate appearing for the petitioners. All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
