The grievance of the petitioners is directed against inaction of the concerned municipality i.e. the statutory respondent nos.2, 3 and 5. It is submitted on behalf of the petitioners that notwithstanding a communication dated 20th November, 2024 issued by the respondent no.5, inter alia, finding that the private respondents had made unauthorized and illegal construction, no steps whatsoever have been taken by the respondent authorities to demolish the same.

Pursuant to earlier orders of this Court, the Executive Officer, who is the author of the communication dated 20th November, 2024, is personally present in Court.

It is categorically submitted on behalf of the Executive Officer that appropriate steps would forthwith be taken to act in terms of the communication dated 20th November, 2024 and the same would be brought to a

logical conclusion.

In view of the submissions made on behalf of the executive officer/Municipality, WPA 1519 of 2025 is disposed of by directing the Executive Officer, being the respondent no.5, to act in terms of the letter dated 20th November, 2024 in accordance with law.

The further presence of the Executive Officer is dispensed with.

It is expected that the above exercise would be completed within a period of two weeks from the date of passing of this order.

There shall, however, be no order as to costs. Urgent Photostat certified copy of the order if applied for, be made over to the parties as expeditiously as possible.
