Petitioner prays for anticipatory bail.

Learned Advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner was falsely implicated.

Learned Advocate appearing for the State draws the attention of the Court to the statement of the victim recorded under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure and the statements of the neighbours recorded under Section 161 thereof. The victim in her statement recorded under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure implicates the petitioner in raping her and taking offensive videographs of her. She also claims that the petitioner took a sum of Rs.16 lakhs on the promise of providing her a government job which was never provided.

The statement of the victim largely stands corroborated by the statements recorded under Section 161 of the Code of Criminal Procedure of the neighbours.

In such circumstances, considering the gravity of the offence and the involvement of the petitioner in the incident, we are unable to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

Accordingly, the prayer for anticipatory bail of the petitioner is rejected.

C.R.M. (A) 254 of 2023 is dismissed.
