Learned counsel for the petitioner contends that the petitioner is not being given electricity connection despite having applied for the same.

Learned counsel for the CESC Limited submits that although initially the CESC Limited has asked for a 'No Objection' from the other persons living at the property, on subsequent inspection, it was revealed that a new connection can be given to the petitioner at the premises, from the existing meter board position, without any hazard being caused to the others.

As such, the said insistence is now withdrawn by the CESC Limited.

In such view of the matter, WPA 1242 of 2023 is allowed, thereby directing the CESC Limited to give a new electricity connection to the petitioner from the existing meter board position at the premises-in-question upon compliance of all formalities by the petitioner in that

regard, preferably within one week from the compliance of such formalities.

In the event any obstruction is raised by the private respondents and/or their men and agents in the CESC Limited giving such connection, it will be open to the CESC personnel to approach the Inspector-in-Charge of the Howrah Police Station (respondent no.4) for adequate police assistance.

If so approached, the respondent no.4 shall act on a server copy of this order and give such police help to the CESC personnel at the cost of the petitioner. There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat copies of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
